History Of Baking

Know The History of Baking And Pastry
Baking is ever a joyful event for me and I think there are many others out in the world who feel the same way as I do. The sense of smell felt whenever I pass by a Patisserie or a bakery shop mesmerizes me into a world of never-ending happiness. When you bake cookies, cakes, cupcake, or invent a new type of bread or cake, you’ll find a push within yourself and the atmosphere around you changes into a felicitous mode. On a sunny, lazy afternoon, spending time baking in your kitchen inventing a delicious pastry that might cook you off gives you a warm feeling.
In a way, baking binds family together. In the event of an occasion or just to have some fun family time with all the members grouped together for baking creates moments of joy, playfulness and messiness and makes it a non-tradable experience. Sometimes you’ll be more happy and tireless when you’re baking to make others glad. This affection creates a sweet air in your relationship and might strengthen relationships as well. It makes you aware that you are capable of bringing joy in others lives with things like as simple as baking a good dish.
Sometimes it makes me wonder how baking evolved? I’m often intrigued by this question and after doing some research on my brand new computer powered by

and discussing with a friends’ relative – a famous baker well known for traditional methods of baking style, I got interesting information on this subject.
Baking is believed to be originated from the times of Babylonians and from there on history has the record of baking illustrations in many other ancient civilizations, like Egypt, Rome and Greece. The process of baking was originally carried through high intensity fire made of coals on a hearth. With the brick ovens or clay and even mud ovens, to cast metal ovens such as the Dutch Oven to the modern Conventional ovens to Convection and Microwave ovens, baking has evolved into a great deal from the olden days.
The Egyptians started baking while experimenting with flour mixtures and wild yeasts and gradually the art of baking bread began to spread and became famous throughout Europe and parts of Asia. It became a traveler’s mate as the staple baked bread was not easily spoilt and lasted for long as it had less moisture content within once baked. Later, baking which started with bread transformed into several new techniques and flourished in the Roman Empire with an influence of Greek culture and pastry making was popularized during this time. Baking became a means of earning source and was often found to be sold on streets in those days. Initially, baked goods and pastries were prepared in households and was a daily scene on streets with vendors or bakers selling them in hand-carts. As the demand increased, open-air cafes and patisseries made their way into the world.
Each and every baked item that is sought out very much and is famous in today’s world has a history involved with it. Starting with the Amaretti Cookies, Peanut Butter Cookies, Criss-cross buns, Croissant, Banana Bread, Bread Pudding, Boston Cream Pie, Varieties of cakes like Angel food cake, Bienenstich or Bee Sting cake, Carrot cake, Chiffon Cake, Pavlova, Torte, Pound cake, Sponge cake, and Brownies, Trifle, Tiramisu, Scones, Muffins, Ganache and Hot Chocolate to name a few. Every baked snack and dessert has a background to narrate. With hundreds of variations of these baked goods in different cultures, the art of baking is constantly evolving and is always a delightful and exciting process to indulge.

Baking $86.03 Baking is the technique of prolonged cooking of food by dry heat acting by convection, and not by radiation, normally in an oven, but also in hot ashes, or on hot stones. It is primarily used for the preparation of bread, cakes, pastries and pies, tarts, quiches, and cookies. Such items are sometimes referred to as baked goods, and are sold at a bakery. A person who prepares baked goods as a profession is called a baker. It is also used for the preparation of baked potatoes, baked apples, baked beans, some casseroles and pasta dishes such as lasagna, and various other foods, such as the pretzel. Many commercial ovens are provided with two heating elements: one for baking, using convection and conduction to heat the food, and one for broiling or grilling, heating mainly by radiation. Meat may also be baked, but is usually reserved for meat loaf, smaller cuts of whole meats, and whole meats that contain stuffing or coating such as breadcrumbs or buttermilk batter; larger cuts prepared without stuffing or coating are more often roasted, a similar process, using higher temperatures and shorter cooking times.
