What easy recipe would you recommend for a couple just starting to cook?

My bf and I are just starting to cook and would love to try a recipe out together. When I say just starting this is what I mean: We both know how to make a couple things, but nothing extravagant. We both can make pasta, eggs, pancakes, stir fry, pretty easy things. I would say I know a little more than him, because I make my own pasta sauces while he just uses pre-made sauces from a jar.

these may seem hard but are easy:

Lasagne:

use a Pyrex dish (oven proof dish)
Cover the bottom with butter (only a bit) to stop sticking.
Place sweetcorn on the bottom after greecing with butter. Then layer with lasagne sheets. Make Your own homemade sauce and put a bit over them lasagne sheets just to cover slightly. they put some fried veg like fried onions mushrooms (don’t have to be fried) and any other you can think of. then put some more lasagne sheets down put more sauce over the top more veg more sheets then put a cheese sauce over the top to finish off put in the oven to cook.
